Bottles in the Walls
Tucked within the walls of the house, a hidden collection of bottles offers a glimpse into a past that was never meant to be seen. This exhibit explores the discovery, context, and significance of these artifacts, revealing the stories quietly preserved behind the structure itself.
This guided talk is offered every hour and runs approximately 25 minutes. Questions are welcome.

Prohibition Tasting Experience
Step into The Speakeasy for a guided tasting experience exploring the origins of Prohibition-era cocktails. Guests will sample four small pours while learning how and why these drinks were created, from disguising harsh spirits to evading detection.
Offered Saturdays at 6:00 PM, this experience invites visitors to sip, learn, and step further into the story of the era.

Uncover Secret Messages
During the renovation of Capstone, a collection of documents was uncovered with ties to Chicago’s Prohibition-era underworld. Among them are signatures linked to figures such as Johnny “Papa Johnny” Torrio, Al Capone (“Scarface”), and Murray Humphreys (“The Camel”).
Can you uncover the meaning behind their coded messages?
Located in The Study, this guided experience is offered daily at 3:00 PM. Guests will handle original documents; gloves are required and provided.
